Winemaker’s Notes:
“This varietal in Bordeaux is a ‘blender’, adding color, depth and the accouterments to the Bordeaux 5.
There are those in this valley who believe it to be a stand alone varietal for this appellation, and to those people I say ‘yes’.
For me this wine provides the stage, the adorned curtains, the velvet seats and low lighting of the theater… and yet, it doesn’t dance or sing, or play for you…. It is delicate and dark, brooding and complex.. But don’t arrive expecting fanfare. You must sit, sip and listen to discover the true nature of this wine.”

Tasting notes: Beautiful dark red with ruby edges and a deep, even color. This wine opens with licorice and heavy fruit, it is rich in dark fruit and heavy berries, with a silky entry. The palate is open and thoughtful with silky tannins and a lengthy yet soft mouthfeel. It finishes long with darker berries, a touch of oak and a delicate underlay of spice. The length on the final palate is notable. It should age gracefully.
